How to Succeed in Business Without Losing Your Soul

Some would argue that you have to sell your soul to succeed in business. This raises the question whether faith and work are fundamentally opposing forces or potentially complementary resources? Is the concept of integrating faith and work beneficial to the bottom line or is it a distraction from the business of business? As globalization spreads, how should businesses think about faith and work? Professor Miller, who was formerly a partner in a private equity firm and a director of the securities services and global custody division of HSBC Group, will share some of his research findings, stories from his corporate advisory work, and engage participants in a discussion on this subject.

Dr. David Miller is Director of the Princeton University Faith & Work Initiative. Prior to this, he was Executive Director of the Yale Center for Faith & Culture, and taught at both Yale School of Management and Divinity School. Before joining academia, he was a partner in a private equity firm and a senior executive and director of the securities services and global custody division of HSBC Group. He is a frequent speaker at gatherings of business leaders, corporate events, and academic conferences and his views are often cited in the media, including in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, and the major US television networks.
