Samson Tse has been Professor in Mental Health at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) since July 2014. He currently directs the Master of Social Sciences in Mental Health and the Co-operative Education Programme in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration. From 2020 until June 2025, he also served as Dean of Student Affairs at HKU. His research aims to strengthen human services for individuals with severe mental illness and addiction, improving outcomes for service users, families, and caregivers. His work focuses on two key areas:1) Exploring psychosocial issues in bipolar disorder and problem gambling; 2) Advancing recovery-oriented approaches, including Strengths Model Case Management and Peer Support Interventions.
